3.1 is the music of Jerome Mark Mikulich. He is a graduate of Columbia College in Chicago IL where he received a B.A. Degree
in the Arts, Entertainment and Media Management Program with an emphasis on sound engineering and the recording industry.
Mikulich was the Chief Recording Engineer and Producer at the Playroom Recording Studio in Chicago, IL from 1989-99.
In 1993, he started his own music production company called Playroom Productions and produced music for his own record label.
During his music career Mikulich has engineered albums for artists on Warner Brothers, Mercury/PolyGram and many other well
known major and independent record labels, like Clubhouse and Circuit Records in Chicago IL and Emotive in New York NY.
Mikulich has written and recorded many of his own songs. He received a record review for one entitled "It Feels Right"
in Billboard Magazine. Mikulich has been awarded a platinum record as a recording engineer and has appeared as a engineer,
producer and re-mixer on many well known major and independent record labels.
Mikulich began writing his 3.1 music in 1989 with a synthesizer, keyboard sampler and computer sequencer. The sound of
3.1 is melodic, high energy and derived from customized drums sounds, percussion instruments, synthesizers, broadcast radio
and preacher sound bites, synthesized bass sounds and his own lead and background singing vocals. The high-tech sound of
3.1 is simply Unique!
The debut 3.1 release is entitled "31 Degrees and Two Miles of Fog.” This album features ten original songs all written and
performed by Mikulich. The sophomore 3.1 release is entitled “Spiritual Forecast” which contains 14 songs written in a NEW music
style called “Message Progressive". A trademark sound creation of 3.1
